Y’all seemed to LOVE the peach rosemary scones, so here are some fun recipes to spice up your quarantine! 😍 First up, this lovely pineapple upside down cake. (I’ll put the link in my story. I followed the recipe to a T... and yet I had a minor accident. Do. Not. Bake. The. Cake. In. A. Skillet!! It’ll spill over. Use a cake pan.) Still, the cake was scrummy and indulgent. Great for Memorial Day! Now for the recipe I’m really proud of... because I invented it. 🤣 HONEYSUCKLE CITRUS SYLLABUB! This was so fun to make and the perfect summery treat. ——————————————————————— In honor of @emilybainmurphy and her preorder campaign for Splinters of Scarlet, I’m naming this recipe Brock’s HONEYSUCKLE CITRUS SYLLABUB (because of his green thumb.) 😉: To make the honeysuckle flavoring, gather one cup of Japanese honeysuckle. Soak the flowers in cold water to clean them, then simmer them for five minutes in a cup of water, cup of sugar, and with the peel from one naval orange. Then, remove from stovetop and let seep for an hour. Strain the liquid and store liquid in the fridge. (This syrup can also be used in teas and cocktails.) Moving on to the syllabub... whip 1 1/2 cups of whipping cream with 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, zest and juice from a lemon, 2 tablespoons of apple juice, and 1/4 cup of sugar. Then, add half of the honeysuckle syrup. Whip until stiff. 😍 This cream is wonderful with fresh berries and/or cake. (I’m freezing the leftovers to make ice cream.) ——————————————————————— In other news, the cover for DEAREST JOSEPHINE will be revealed very soon, and I’m thrilled. If you’d like to participate in the cover reveal, shoot me a DM. 📚 And if you do attempt this recipe, let me know!! I’d love to see pictures of your own quarantine tea party.

Disappearances Mocktail

One of my very favorite bloggers, Nancy from Tales of the Ravenous Reader, invented a cocktail inspired by The Disappearances. She shares the recipe with us below:

2 oz Pineapple Juice

1 oz Gatorade sour apple

Splash of ginger ale

Cotton candy (preferably green)

Directions

Set amount of cotton candy in martini glass. The sweeter you want the drink, the more you should use.

Mix pineapple, sour apple together and pour over cotton candy and watch it disappear. When it's gone add a bit of ginger ale to taste.

You can add a white cherry for garnish.

Enjoy!
